GLOBALFOUNDRIES is looking for a highly motivated Senior Tape out Process Management Engineer to join a new team of tape out engineers of diverse disciplines to work in the Global Tape out Organization, based in Penang. The successful candidate will work with 100% quality and minimal cycle time in mind. This role requires a close working relationship and collaboration with internal teams, IP management, Process Design Kit (PDK), Application Engineering (AE), Process Integration (PI) and DRC Review Board (DRB) and to provide exceptional tape out services in the increasingly complex and competitive world of wafer manufacturing.
Introduction
The roles and responsibilities will include working with cross functional teams to strategies, manage and automate the foundry tape out process to ensure in-coming IP/tap out quality and compliance to both design and manufacturing integrity requirements, such as DRC and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Some travel may be required.
Your Job
- Understand and become a Subject Matter Expert in foundry tape out process, workflow, and requirements.
- Strategize, define, optimize and manage business process/workflow to ensure customer satisfaction, tape out quality and operational efficiency.
- Track and analyze tape out data and operational metric.
- Collaborate with cross functional team for continuous improvement in business process, system, and automation.
- Manage waiver process and foundry tape out quality compliance (DRC, DFM) applied to internal design teams, IP partners and customers.
- Assist Fab, Field Engineers, IP vendors and customers on waivers and check-data (DRC, DFM, etc) queries.
- Understand the Design Manuals and release notes of the DRC and DFM package.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree (MS/MTech) plus min 2 year of experience or bachelor’s degree plus 4yrs of experience with specialization in Computer Engineering or Electrical (VLSI, Microelectronics and related) or other relevant Engineering
- Strong presentational skills, ability to articulate technical and business contents in layman terms
- Strong in customer relational and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with both external and internal customers at all levels and from various cultural background
- Language Fluency – Proficiency in spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing customer expectation while achieving results.
- Experience in foundry/design support to customers
- Experience in business development strategies/ business process/ business policy/ workflow making.
- Exposure to Semiconductor Process or Layout Design Engineering
- Familiar with EDA Physical Verification tools from Mentor Graphics, Cadence or Synopsys
- Experience or knowledge of database (mySQL or similar) and digital data platform tools, such as Power BI
- Skills in Perl, Tcl/TK, Python, mySQL, Linux shell scripting, php, angular js, css
