JOB OBJECTIVE

To assist Classroom Teachers in providing a learning environment that supports the developmental and educational needs of all the children, under the overall direction of the class teacher and Head of Pre-Prep.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • To work with an individual or small groups of children as directed by the Classroom Teacher or Head of Pre-Prep.
  • To actively promote the learning of Mandarin language within the Pre-Prep dual language environment
  • To follow the agreed programmes of work with individuals and groups of children working towards set targets
  • To contribute to the well-being of the children in terms of physical, emotional and social needs. 
  • To support staff with minor admin tasks when not directly working with pupils, For example in non-contact time E.g. photocopy, file or complete records
  • To make notes in Individual Education Plan (IEP) books for children as required
  • Contribute to the CCA programme within the school
  • Assisting with the children’s safe use of school transport arrangements
  • To provide any other reasonable duties delegated by the School Management 

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1 year of experience in school, working with children between the ages from 3 to 5 year old.
  • Ability to converse in Mandarin is preferred in order to teach students mandarin language, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use of initiative is essential
  • Passionate and comfortable working with young children
  • Proficient in using computers
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
