Position Summary

The HR Manager is responsible for providing human resources support to Energizer’s Singapore plant colleagues. This includes acting as the Human Resources Business Partner to the functional groups, including colleagues from Finance, Supply Chain, and IT while working closely with the Global Function HRBPs as the local subject matter expert in employment practices. 

This position will typically interface with director-level and below colleagues regarding employee relations issues, salary administration, performance management, organizational effectiveness, recruitment, compensation, and talent management. The incumbent will provide support to the Plant Manager and Director of Human Resources (based in Singapore) in communicating, delivering and influencing human resources strategies and initiatives.

HR manager Singapore will need to manage the local HR team to focus and ensure that the HR operations are managed smoothly and proactively.

Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Be active and creative on the administration of workforce – from operator to staff level, ensuring we maintain and sustain the DMC ratio.
  • Sharing, emphasizing and controlling the implementation of MOM/MPH/other rulings that relate to workforce and other labor regulations.
  • Support the Plant Manager and Value Stream Managers in developing right Energizer culture to achieve meaningful engagements with all colleagues.
  • Active in identifying, supporting, or leading improvement action to control or reduce cost related to people/benefit/people activity.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve positive Employer/Union relation to maintain a meaningful partnership based on trust.
  • Be an active partner in developing positive team work ethics within the Singapore team.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Support implementation of HR strategies and initiatives to develop structure, processes, systems, solutions and metrics to enable Singapore teams to follow through and achieve business targets.
  • Effectively work with line management in planning for and meeting business goals and targets. Demonstrate ability to understand how the business operates at a fundamental level and partner with business team members to implement these solutions.
  • Partner with the business and HR team on recruitment, particularly at operator level, people development, and retention issues. Assist in forming organizational capability and bench strength, ensuring the right people are in the right jobs.
  • Lead or participate in talent reviews, succession planning reviews, calibration reviews and performance management where appropriate.
  • Promote Energizer’s values, culture, and competency model. Nurture annual performance management process and educate colleagues on career development resources.
  • Serve as a change agent and consultant to the business in support of the Company’s vision, mission, values, culture, strategy, and initiatives. Lead local implementation of business and corporate HR initiatives through effective change management.
  • Provide coaching and advice to people managers on people-related issues.
  • Care for local employee relations issues, follow through union negotiation, partnering with Legal as appropriate.
  • Cultivate awareness and adherence to Energizer’s compensation/rewards principles among people leaders.
  • Ensure legal compliance and mitigate the Company’s risk by having a basic understanding of relevant Brazil employment laws and follow agreed processes. May track/monitor necessary data and information.
  • Encourage utilization of the HR Operating Model, including manager and colleague self-service.
  • Coordinate and monitor people manager application and effective use of HR instruments, policies, and processes.
  • Follow through organizational effectiveness initiatives, such as implementing/monitoring organizational design principles and continuous improvement activities.
  • Promote the role of Human Resources and enhance the credibility of the function; work collaboratively with Human Resources team members to proactively share best practices and processes.
  • Provide location-specific insights to help the Center of Excellence team at Headquarters (St. Louis, MO, USA) align overall strategies with Brazil specific requirements. 
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

  • University Degree in Human Resource, Business or other related fields.
  • 10-12 years of functional Human Resources and business partnership experience.
  • Knowledgeable in Singapore labor/employment laws as they pertain to HR practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence for a desired outcome/result.
  • Ability to respectfully challenge leaders and manager.
  • Effective at balancing being a strategic partner, change agent, administrative expert, & employee champion.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Previous experience coaching line managers.
  • Ability to work independently.
