Job Description

Facilities & maintenance support at childcare centres

  • Oversee any construction/ maintenance works carried out within the centre’s compound. Ensure all safety guidelines and submission of risk assessment by the contractor are adhered to before work commence, if required
  • Plan, track, and co-ordinate the maintenance works including regular inspection and routine servicing of Building Facilities and Works (including scheduled maintenance, breakdown maintenance, fault response, attendance to urgent and ad hoc complaints, repair works, and etc.)
  • To assist Manager in ensuring the completion of cyclical upgrading projects are within budget, schedule and expected quality and compliance with the regulatory requirements and corporate governance.
  • To be responsible for estate management and ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the centre under his/her purview
  • To assist in the supervision/ tracking of centre repair/maintenance matters and ensure consistency and compliance with authorities’ requirements and building regulations.

Inspection and Reporting

  • To perform site inspection and ensure all essential facilities and services are well maintained
  • To source for specialized contractors to rectify the issues such as pool leakages, roof leakages, frequent electrical faults, and etc.
  • Ensure and upkeep all necessary maintenance contracts and regulations on facilities are up to date. For example: All maintenance contracts, lift license, EMA licenses and etc

Admin Documentation

  • Source for defects rectification quotations and centre’s upgrading works and seek for management’s approval
  • Monitor and tracking of maintenance contracts and to carry out tender/ renewal 3 months prior to expiry date
  • To analyze and follow up on outstanding facilities faults at the centres via Maintenance Apps and report to management on bi-weekly basis
  • Manage and maintain proper records and files of correspondence and documents; and assist in preparation of the reports required by the management. 
  • Keep and maintain proper records of all documents and correspondences including but not limited to the tenancy and licence agreements, FSC, SCDF approved floor plans, URA planning permissions, service reports and documentary evidence of all expenditure incurred
  • Carry out ad-hoc duties when required

Inter-Relations

  • Maintain close and co-operative working relationship and communications with internal and external stakeholders which includes Cluster Managers, Centre Principals and HQ staff

Job Requirements

  • Qualification: Diploma in Estate Management / Building Services / Engineering or equivalent preferred. Fresh diploma holders are welcome to apply.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years working experience in Facilities / Property / Operations Management.
  • Other Knowledge / Skills / Attributes:
  • Possess strong communication, writing and negotiation skills.
  • Meticulous, organised, and have an eye for details.
  • Able to comprehend Architectural Floor Plans, M&E Plans, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
