The role of the Sonographer is to provide imaging services to patients, handle oversight of the imaging machines and ensure that maintenance works are carried out. The Sonographer shall assist in the provision of a high quality and effective diagnostic imaging and personalised service, while assuring the optimum quality of care for patients.
Job Scope:
- Involves using technological equipment.
- Provide care for the patients undergoing examinations according to the nature of their illnesses and clinical diagnosis.
- Responsible for the proper functioning and maintenance of the equipment and accessories within the designated work area. Be responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of examination/ procedure room.
- Prepare equipment and supplies required for any sonography procedures.
- Ensure radiological examinations performed are of diagnostic value with correct patient identification.
- Coach and mentor other radiographers and locum staff (if any) to ensure their competence.
- Manage customers’ expectations and uphold good service standards.
- Adhere closely to all the safety precautions and infection control guidelines.
Job Requirement:
- Min Diploma / Degree qualification.
- Need to be AHPC registered.
- Must be able to do mammography.
- Can do both sonography and radiography.
- With sonographer license
- Able to work in a team or independently with minimum supervision.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Present a professional image and deliver top-quality customer service.
